Juan Gutierrez

Juan Gutierrez, 60, of Rigby, passed away June 5, 2010, at EIRMC surrounded by his family and friends. He was born June 12, 1950 at Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico to Jose T. Gutierrez and Romona Pulido. On March 15, 1999, he married the love of his life Manuela Torres, in Idaho Falls, and they have lived happily in Rigby since. Juan enjoyed his family and friends and held dear the many fishing and hunting trips they had together. Juan was so proud and full of love when it came to his children and in recent years was able to share that love with his grandchildren. Juan loved to cook and there was never a time when you went to his home that he was not open armed with a plate of food in hand, he never let you leave hungry. For the last thirteen years Juan has worked closely with his cherished friend Greg Cramer at Evergreen Sprinkler & Landscaping Co. Juan took great pride in his work and treated every customer and their landscaping projects as if they were his own. Juan had a very strong work ethic and that showed in everything he did. Juan is survived by his wife Manuela; children Alex (Brooke) Gutierrez, Elizabeth (Scott) Lange, Whitni (Kory) Jorgensen, Ian Gutierrez, Maria (Alejandro) Perez, Samantha Gutierrez and step-son Hector Torres; sisters Sagrario Gutierrez P, Maria Gutierrez P; half-brothers Vicente Valeriano P, Reinaldo Valeriano P, and Catarino Valeriano Jr. P; half-sisters Carmen Valeriano P, Martha Valeriano P, Maria Valeriano P, and Bertha Valeriano P; and three grandchildren Hayden, Ben and Kylee. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose T. Gutierrez, Ramona Pulido, a sister Ramona Gutierrez P, a brother Jose T. Gutierrez Jr. P, and step-father Catarino Valeriano Sr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7: 00 p.m., to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services, both at the funeral home.
