Judith Lavonne Capp

February 15, 1947 — January 12, 2024

Judith (Judy) Mead Capp passed away peacefully at Lincoln Court Assisted Living, Idaho Falls, after prolonged health challenges on Jan 12, 2024. She was 76 years old.

She was born to parents Nathan and Vera (Norris) Mead in St Joesph, MO. She had a younger brother, Gerald. Her mother passed away from sudden illness when Judy was 9 years old. Her father remarried, Elsie (Hunter), and had sisters Martha and Sarah.

After graduating from high school, Judy moved around before settling in Rock Springs, WY where she met her husband, Terry Capp. Judy became a wonderful (step) mother to Terry’s sons, Mike and Kerry. She worked for Bridger Coal for a short time and then spent many years as a librarian at the Rock Springs Library. Judy enjoyed reading, sewing, playing piano, collecting owls and cooking. She showed her love for others through her amazing baking and many crafts and scrapbooking, and also by adopting many stray cats and dogs over the years.

After retiring, she and Terry moved to Rigby, ID where they created a home with room for all the many talents they shared.

Judy is survived by her step-sons Mike (Shawna) Capp of Snohomish, WA and Kerry Capp of Alverda, PA;, sisters Martha Nolt of Jefferson City, MO and Sarah Shimek of Lafayette, CO; and grandchildren Tanner and Kyla Capp. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry, and her brother Jerry Mead.

She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her smile and laugh and sweet generous disposition.
