Judy Irene Andersen, 76, of Rigby Idaho passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Judy Irene Andersen was born on September 21, 1948, into the loving arms of Joseph Lemond Tyler and Luvenda Harriette Barker. She was the youngest of five children. She grew up and attended schools in the Ririe area, but her family spent summers on their ranch in Island Park. She always had such fond memories of her friends and family that she grew up with, and would tell her family the stories often of her adventures that usually included a horse.

At the tender age of 15 she met the love of her life, James Eric Andersen, at her uncle's New Years shrimp fry. They were married On October 2, 1964, in the same church where her funeral services will be held. They were married for 60 years, and their union was blessed with 6 children. In 1982 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Judy loved the gospel and tried to always live up to the standards asked of her. She served in many capacities in the LDS church but the callings that made her the happiest included the ward primary in the title. She loved children more than anything and loved working with them. She had a way of showing them how special they were and that they were loved beyond measure. She also worked at Jefferson School District No. 251 for many years. While there she was in the service and care of the special needs children of the area.

In 1985, her own grandchildren began to enter the world. She came to life more with the birth of each one and they never had to wonder about her love for them; it was unconditional and with all of her heart.

The last few years have been filled with her share of health issues. She struggled with chronic pain and had many surgeries and doctor visits. She and Eric spent many hours traveling to doctors for her care. They were truly best friends and did everything together. Eric was the best of the best caregivers and loved her unconditionally. Her passing will leave a void that will never be filled. She will be missed every single day. We were thankful for the opportunity to be by her side as she passed.

She was preceded in death by her parents LeMond and Luvenda Tyler, her in-laws, Lloyd and Lois Andersen, her infant brother Kent Tyler, her sister Verna Groth, and her son Trevor J. Andersen. She is survived by her husband Eric Andersen, Toni Furniss (Chris Hunt), Troy Andersen (Marci), Travis Andersen (Kandi), Tyson Andersen (Chantel Probert), Tara Rose (Mike), 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Siblings,  Linda Nilson (Stephen)and Val Tyler (Julie).
