Judy Lyn Meikle

Judy Lyn Meikle, age 69, finished her work in this life and was called to begin the next chapter of work for her heavenly father on August 18th, 2021.

She was brought into this world September 17, 1951 in Rexburg Idaho by Ross and Armista Johnson. She was the third of five daughters.

Judy met her sweetheart, Lynn Burdette Meikle, through her father while water skiing at Egin lakes with her family. Judy and Burdette were married on August 16, 1968, and honeymooned in Hawaii as he was enroute to serve in the Vietnam war. She loved and supported Burdette, and patiently waited for him to return so they could start their family.

Family was everything to Judy. She sacrificed her time, needs, and wants; replacing them for those of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always there radiating love and compassion in a way that made everyone feel loved and part of her greater family, and always welcomed everyone with open arms and heart. Her hugs and affection will be missed by all.

She loved going to her grandchildrens' activities to show support and sprinkle her grandma dust "aka pixie dust" to bring good luck to them.  We all know that the pixie dust was really the strength of her faith and prayers that she included each and every one of us in daily.  Hand gestures were also made up so that from a distance she could give a hug to loved ones.

Nature filled her soul and she shared that passion by rounding the troops up to pick huckleberries, camping, making friends with animals, identifying flowers, and going for drives to soak in the views that her heavenly father created.

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints also filled her soul and she served in many different callings: scouting, young women, girls camp, primary president, relief society, and compassionate committees.

Judy is survived by her husband Lynn, children: Melanie (Von) Hansen, Amy (Shane) Mickelsen, Tammie, Tim, and Nathan (Andrea) Meikle; 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday Aug. 24, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the 19th Ward, 2332 West 2000 South, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. Family will visit with friends Monday Aug 23, 2021 from 7-8:30 pm at Eckersell Funeral home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442. and prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
