Judy Gaye (Nancy Gene) Thompson, 79 of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born September 14, 1938 in Ellicottville, New York, the daughter of Gaylord A Frost and Beatrice M Hurlburt Frost. She grew up in and attended schools at Ellicottville, New York. When she was 19, she married Jimmy Dortch. They later divorced. She later married Pete Petersen. They divorced. She then married Bill Crawshaw. He preceded her in death. On February 27, 1972, she married Ned Thompson in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 16, 1973. Ned also preceded her in death. While living in New York, Judy worked as a caregiver at a mental health hospital. She was always a caring person. In Elmore County, she served as the chairman for the March of Dimes. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she had opportunity to serve as a primary teacher to the children and as a Relief Society President. She was very creative and crafty, this served her well in sharing her talents with the sisters of the Relief Society and the primary children. She liked to sew and most recently she was creating watches. She served as a missionary in Sydney, Australia for the LDS Church where she worked in researching genealogy. Some of her favorite things were playing cards and reading. She was also a fierce bingo player. Judy is survived by her children, Jim (Ora) Dortch of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mike Petersen of Sand Point, Idaho, Timothy Thompson of Idaho, and Tammy Thompson of Idaho. Nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two brothers, Robert and David Frost. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Ammon West LDS Stake Center (2055 Coronado, Idaho Falls, Idaho). The family will meet with friends prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:45 AM on Thursday at the church. The interment will be in the Field Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
