Karen Joyce Stucki Merrill, 86, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at her home in Rigby, Idaho on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

She was born on January 3, 1938 to Adolf Stucki and Clara Miskin Stucki in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Karen graduated from Bonneville High School and spent some time at Ricks College.

She married the love of her life, Louis Horton Merrill, on January 16, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Karen loved raising their six children and taking care of their home.

Karen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and honorably served in many callings. She loved serving and caring for others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Clara Stucki; siblings Margaret Sessions, Doyle Stucki, Darrell Stucki, Nolan Stucki, and Arvon Stucki; granddaughters Heidi Merrill, Ginger Merrill; grandson Nathan Merrill; and great-granddaughter Ashlynne Merrill.

Karen is survived by her sweetheart, Louis Merrill of Rigby, ID; children Bonnie (Brian) Ogden of Grantsville, UT, Ryan (Delma) Merrill of Rigby, ID, Douglas (Debra) Merrill of Idaho Falls, ID, Curtis (Paula) Merrill of Hagerman, ID, Bruce (Martha) Merrill of Mapleton, UT, and Kendall (Jennifer) Merrill of Meridian, ID; brothers Hardy Stucki and Karl Stucki. Karen was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Karen will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaBelle 2nd Ward Building (4223 E 528 N, Rigby ID 83442). Viewings will be held at the church Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. as well as Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
