South Jordan, Utah

Karen Kay Treasure, age 87, passed peacefully on March 13, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born on October 15, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to her devoted parents Lyle and Lova Green.

Karen grew up in Rigby, Idaho, where she was cherished as an only child and formed a very close bond with her parents and grandparents. She spent her childhood playing with her many cousins, nurturing family connections. In high school, Karen was active in student leadership and loved playing sports, already demonstrating the energy, competitiveness, and spirit that would define her life.

Karen married Lynn Treasure, and together they welcomed two sons, Jeff and Tony, whom she loved deeply. She devoted her life to providing for her family, building an extraordinary over 60year career in banking. Karen worked faithfully for US Bank before her first retirement. Not one to sit still, she continued her service with Washington Mutual, and after a second retirement, joined Zions Bank, where she ultimately retired in 2018. Her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality touched countless customers and colleagues.

In 2018, Karen moved to Utah to be closer to her son Tony and daughter-in-law Chelsey. There, she became a beloved member of her assisted living community, where her sharp mind and love for good fun made her the undisputed master of games. Whether it was cards, puzzles, or especially Bingo, Karen was the one to beat.

Shortly after settling in Utah, Karen also became a passionate Utah Jazz fan. She never missed watching a game, attended many in person with her community, and lit up with joy whenever she had the chance to meet the Jazz Bear, one of her favorite experiences.

Karen’s hobbies brought her great joy throughout her life. She adored gardening, tending to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to the people around her. She was also an avid bowler, competing on many teams in the Rigby area and achieving numerous accomplishments with her leagues. Her competitive streak, combined with her kindness and humor, made her a favorite teammate and friend.

Karen is survived by her sons Jeff Treasure and Tony (Chelsey) Treasure. She is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Lova Green, and her grandparents David and Mary Zundel, and William and Dora Green.

Karen will be remembered for her loyalty, her wit, her unmatched work ethic, and her endless love for her family. She lived her life with grace, strength, and an unshakable sense of joy. Her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
