Kathleen “Kay” Alison Faria, 93, of Castro Valley, California passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Rexburg, Idaho at the Homestead Assisted Living. She was born May 18, 1923 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Thomas Roland Webster and Sarah Ann Hanby Webster. Kay married Clarence Gregory Faria on August 8, 1942 in Oakland, California. She worked as a Retail Clerk at the Castor Valley Safeway for 20 plus years. After retiring from Safeway, she later returned to work in the Safeway Flower Shop. She had a love for flowers and gardening. She was a Gardener with the Lodi, California Gardening Association at Mickey Grove Park. With her husband, they raised, showed and competed Shephard dogs. She golfed at the Willow Park Golf Course and was a member of the Willowettes Womens Group. Kay is survived by her children, Theresa Faria of Sparks, NV, Allison Sunnie (Tim) Schantin of Castro Valley, CA, Thomas (Marie) Faria of Rigby, Idaho and a sister, Eileen Grobl of San Leandro, CA. 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gregory Faria, her parents, and a daughter, Charlene Faria. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
