Kathleen Leon Scott

July 29, 1927 — June 26, 2012

Kathleen Leon Scott, 84 of Idaho Falls, formerly of Roberts, passed away quietly in her sleep June 26th, 2012. She was born in Billings, Montana on July 9th, 1927 to Walter Leon Clark and Dorothy Brewer Clark. When she was 5 she moved to Boise, ID, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1945. She met the love of her life, Glen C. Scott, in August of 1946 and they were married in December of the same year. Four years later in 1950 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They spent 66 loving years together. In 1953 they moved to Roberts, ID where they ran a grocery store for many years. They raised their 2 daughters and 4 sons there. Kathleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life; the most important one to her was her music. She went to a special school to learn how to properly lead music and she led the music and sang in the choir all the years she lived in the Roberts Ward. In 1964 Kathleen and Glen, along with his partner, opened Glenwood Meat Packing in Roberts. She spent countless hours wrapping meat alongside Glen and supporting the business, while raising a house full of children. In 1978 they moved their business to Idaho Falls and renamed it Glenwood Smoked Products where Kathleen spent time wrapping meat, keeping the books, and helping to build it to what it is today. Kathleen had many other hobbies, besides her music and raising her family. She loved sewing and made most of her clothes as well as clothes for her children, and won many awards for her sewing. She also loved quilting and outside activities such as snowmobiling, boating, camping, and fishing. Kathleen loved to travel and traveled all over the United States as well as to Europe. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1983, where Kathleen continued leading the music and singing in the choir. In 1994 they were called to serve a full-time mission in Toronto, Canada. She loved her time in the mission field, and kept in touch with the people they met for many years. Kathleen is survived by her husband Glen Scott, her two daughters; Lynda (Wayne) Keller, Ebony (Terry) French, three sons; Clark (Julene) Scott, Rod (Lynette) Scott, Mitch (Annette) Scott, and a daughter-in-law; Shawna Bennett, who all live in the Idaho Falls Area, 23 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Blair Scott, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at Westview Ward LDS Chapel; 2020 S.
