Kathryn Hannah Ivie, 90, of Terreton, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at her home. She was born August 30, 1922, in Spanish Fork, Utah to Boas “Bruce” Anderson and Catherine Christiansen Anderson. She was raised and attended schools in Spanish Fork, graduating from Spanish Fork High School. She then attended Business School in Utah. She served in the US Navy as a Secret Code Machine Specialist, serving primarily in Washington D.C. On December 18, 1947, she married Calvert Wayne Ivie; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 2 daughters and 2 sons. Kathryn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served a mission to Ghana, Africa for 6 months and finished in Inverness, Scotland. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and being outdoors. She is survived by her daughters, Calleen Ivie, of Terreton, Marilyn (Afton) Hogan, of Thayne, Wyoming, sons, Allen (Dorothy) Ivie, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Calvert Lynn Ivie of Afton, Wyoming, sisters, Mary Shepard, of Santaquin, Utah, Marge (Bob) Harker, of Bountiful, Utah, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers and her husband. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Terreton L.D.S. Stake Center with Bishop Scott Blackham officiating. The family will meet with friends from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Wyoming. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
