Katie Selena Hunsaker

September 28, 1918 — January 30, 2006

Katie Selena Hill Hunsaker Lints was born September 28, 1918 at Poplar, Idaho. She was the daughter of Earnest Albert Hill and Effie Selena Thorngren. Although she lived in the same house, she lived in three different counties; Fremont, Madison, and Jefferson. She received a ninth grade education before difficult times required that she leave school to go to work. She married Gerald (Jerry) Hunsaker on April 7, 1938 at Price, Utah. He was a heavy equipment operator and they lived and worked in California and Washington. Jerry died on August 31, 1970 and Katie moved back to Idaho Falls and purchased a home on Whittier Avenue where she could be close to her family. They had no children, but she was a beloved friend and comrade to her nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. There were adventures with snow machines, hunting, fishing, and family outings. She was industrious and always was busy and involved with family and crafts. She created wire art and seed mosaic plaques of animals. She was an avid huntress and fishermaam into her seventies. She married Howard T. Lints on August 1979 at Elko, Nevada. They loved to dance and travel--making one trip that covered the nation to visit with Howard's family. Howard died February 23, 1999. She is survived by step-sisters; Oneita (Oliver) Carpentier, Edna Rae (Birl) Watkins, and Fern Hunsaker Jones. One step-son, Thomas (Sheila) Lints. She has 30 nieces and nephews, 61 grand nieces and nephews, 46 great-grands, and 6 great, great, grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her dear sister Odessa "Deck" Hayes, brothers Elston, Kermit, and Lee Hill and step-sister Betty Lou Tyndall, and grand nephew Bruce L. Hayes. Katie requested that there be no funeral. She will be cremated and inurned at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. She requested no flowers. If you desire, a donation could be made to a favorite charity in her name. Family and friends will meet at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby Friday from 11 A.M. to 12 noon.
