Kay Warren Taylor

Kay Warren Taylor, 65 of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his home after a year-long illness. Kay was born April 6, 1948 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to John William Taylor and Virginia Brown Taylor. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School, and then continued his education at Idaho State University and Boise State University. He worked for his father building potato cellars around the area. In 1968 he married Karen Lee Whittier in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple; they were blessed with 6 children. They moved to Boise, Idaho for a short time while Kay worked for Sears, then returned to Idaho Falls where he worked for Wilcox Construction and Bonneville County Road and Bridge. He also worked as a Draftsman for the INL for 25 years, and has worked for WINCO for the past 14 years. Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in several capacities including Primary Teacher, Scout Leader, and High Priest Group Leader. He enjoyed oil painting, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Karen Taylor of Idaho Falls, children, Michelle (Dale) Boyle of Menan, Brian (Jan) Taylor, Tina (Nathan) Price, both of Kuna, Angela (Alan) McCracken, of Idaho Falls, Dianna (Trent) Jones, Kary Taylor (Matthew Bowman) both of Billings Montana, siblings, John Lonnie (Shirley) Taylor, Dean (Sherrey) Taylor, Vern (LaNea) Taylor, Duane (Vada) Taylor, Karen (Ronald) O’Connor, David (Christine) Taylor, all of Idaho Falls, and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Luke Hulet Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014 at The Iona 4th Ward LDS Chapel in Cloverdale Estates on Crimson Dr. with Bishop Terrell Nielsen conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family extends their gratitude to Encompass Hospice; especially Krisa, Jamie, and Gary.
