Keith “Chuck” “Charlie” Buckland, 82, of Rigby, Idaho died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at his home in Rigby. He was born April 24, 1922 in LaBelle, Idaho the son of Carl and Bess Wheaton Buckland. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby.
Keith married Myrtle Engberson Hammer Wilson on September 4, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Rigby. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Snake River Equipment in Ririe, Idaho until they closed. He then worked at Tri-County Equipment in Rexburg, until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He and Myrtle enjoyed and spent a lot of time at their place in Mud Creek up along the South Fork.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Buckland of Rigby, Idaho. A step-son, Gary (Rita) Hammer of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two step-grand children and seven step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Three brothers; Francis (Pat), Therald (Bill), and Vernal (Bus) Buckland. One sister, Iris (Jude) Larsen, and one half sister, Elaine (Garth) Buckland Fulmer and one half brother, Laverne Buckland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby with Bishop Kerry Holmgren officiating. The family will visit friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel on Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
