Kelly Ray Burnside (63), born April 25 th , 1957 in Driggs, ID to Vernile and Donna Burnside, passed away on December 16 th , 2020 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following an unexpected illness..

Kelly married Laurie Woodhouse on December 5 th , 1975 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 5 th , 1995

He always emphasized the importance of hard work and inspired everyone who met him to make him proud.  He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, Upper Valley Paint, and Burnside Construction.  After that, he successfully became his own boss at Burnside Painting and Remodeling, where he did painting, building, concrete and remodeling.  Kelly was one of those bosses who cared about his employees for who they were, and not just the work they could do. The employees at Region V BOCES were so impressed with him that they hired him on as the maintenance director for five schools for children with special needs until he retired on August 2 nd , 2019.

Although his work ethic was an extremely important part of his identity, his loved ones remember Kelly for his unending love, support, and humor as well. He always offered to help those around him, whenever he noticed that his skills could be useful.  Not only would he help anyone and everyone, but he always made sure to teach them the skills, so they would be able to help themselves in the future.  Amazingly, he figured out how to make work and these learning experiences so fun, that the people who have had the pleasure of working with him describe their work with him as feeling more like spending the day having fun with a close friend.

Kelly’s genuine care and love for those around him was so unconditional, that he made you feel like the only person in the room when he was talking to you, even if you have never met him. Those close to him also admired his strong values of honesty, integrity, responsibility, and prioritizing his family. Kelly was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and lived a Christ-centered life. He is going to be missed dearly by everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him.

He is survived by: his wife, Laurie (Woodhouse), his children; Shad Burnside, Tara Burnside, Kelly Burnside Jr., Danielle (Travis) Hogan, Travis  (Shalene) Burnside, his grandchildren: Kyerstie, Kody, Keeley, Kyndee, Thanis, Aryanna, Lily, Jerom, Zac, Kirsten, Beau, Kylee, Kyra, Jenna, Killian, and Kolter, and his siblings: Loyd Burnside, Peggy (John) Phillipp, Tamara (Dennis) Waters, Cindy ( Vance) Hill, Toni (David – Deceased) O’Brien, and Jeremy (Bri) Burnside and many Nieces and Nephews who loved him dearly.
