Husband, father, sweetheart, eternal partner, grandpa, silly, boss, artist, Bishop, Scoutmaster, fly tyer, friend, confidant, mentor, “old man,” buddy, master fisherman, uncle, cousin, son, father-in-law, Dad... POPS!
Kelly held many titles, but they all pointed to the same thing: love. If you met him, you remembered him. If you knew him, you loved him — and you were better for it. He loved people openly, fully, and without conditions.
Born June 24, 1956, to Patricia Hall and Gerald Glissmeyer, Kelly was shaped by strong roots. After Pat remarried Parry Taylor, Kelly gained another father figure he loved dearly. He attended Roy High School, served an LDS mission to Germany, and graduated from Weber State University.
He fell in love with Cathy — his eternal partner — and together they built a life centered on family. Raising Michael and Geoffrey was one of his greatest joys.
Kelly’s heart belonged outdoors, especially on the river. Fly fishing was more than a hobby; it was how he connected with people. Whether teaching youth classes, leading fly-tying groups, speaking at expos, or writing as a published author and magazine editor, he found joy in sharing what he knew.
But nothing meant more to him than family. Traveling with Cathy, laughing with his four grandchildren, and simply being with his sons were the moments he treasured most.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife, Cathy; sons Michael and Geoffrey; daughter-in-law Leandra; grandchildren Avery, Aria, Kayza, and Kellen; his three younger sisters and their spouses; and countless others who felt like family…and his fishing buddies.
