Kenneth Y Jones, age 83, of Garfield, died at home, Monday, February 7, 2005. He was born February 19, 1921 at Menan, Idaho a son of Henry Warden Jones and Lola Yearsley Jones. He attended schools in Menan graduating from Midway High School where he lettered in football and basketball. He then attended Albion Normal School on scholorship. He served in the United States Navy for 6 years. He came home and married Lois Crystal December 31, 1947 in Garfield, Idaho. He then joined the Air Force reserves serving for 3 years. He worked as a contractor and farmer in the South Eastern Idaho Area. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 11, 1962. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Sunday School Teacher and President of the Sunday School. After the children were grown he and Lois served on two 18 month missions for the church to Canada, Winipeg mission and Salt Lake South Mission. While in Canada on a mission He served as Branch President in a branch in Canada. He is survived by his wife Lois of Garfield, 2 sons: Mike (Erma) Jones and K.C. (Linda) Jones both of Logan, Utah, 3 sisters: Estalene (Roy) Andrew of Rigby, Audrey Ellingson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Shirley (Glen) Poole of Menan, 1 brother Cecil Jones of Garden Valley, California, 12 grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 3 brothers. Funeral services were held Thursday February 10, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Garfield 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Eric Kunz officiating. The family met with friends on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Burial took place in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
