Kenneth Alvin Stromberg

Kenneth Alvin Stromberg, age 72, passed away at his home Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Kenneth was born April 2, 1943 at Idaho Falls, a son of Alvin Browning Stromberg and Leona Elizabeth Bloxham Stromberg. He attended several schools in his youth and graduated from Ririe High School. He married Delaina Ririe, January 28, 1966 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. While he was young he worked with his parents cutting posts and poles and always enjoyed being in the mountains. Later he also helped his mom and dad with their pole yard. He served in the Idaho National Guard from 1964 through 1966. He owned and operated Stromberg Repair Inc. working throughout his life repairing heavy equipment. He honed his skills as a mechanic and was an expert in his field. He loved working and could fix anything. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a ward financial clerk. Kenneth served for 14 years as Jefferson County Commissioner and was honored as outstanding elected official by Region VII Republican Party in 2002. He was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed reloading and target practice. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife Delaina Stromberg of Ririe, daughters, Tresa (Doug) Sorensen of Ririe, Sherry (Paul) Howarth of Victor, a son Kenneth D. (Dagney) Stromberg of Salina, Kansas, a sister Glenda (Wayne) Rottweiler of San Antonio, Texas, and seven grandchildren: Jordan (Chris) Kidd, Cassidy Howarth, Peyton Howarth, Brenden Sorensen, Bodie Sorensen, Adam Sorensen and Katelyn Stromberg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Elizabeth Sorensen. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Ririe Stake Center, 14061 North 130 East, Ririe. The family will visit with friends on Saturday at the Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family gives thanks to his nephew Mark Marler for all of his help for the past 2 ½ years.
