Kenneth Gerald Walker, 71, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1940, in Menan to Gerald Walker and Blanche Campbell Walker. He graduated from Rigby High School then continued his education at Ricks College and Utah State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. On October 11, 1963, he married Janet Renee Murdock in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked as upper management for the Bureau of Land Management.
Kenneth is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Gulf States Mission. He loved spending time outdoors barbequing with family and friends; turkeys were his specialty. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, camping at the ocean, and coaching his kids’ soccer teams. He also belonged to National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He is survived by his wife; Janet Walker, of Lewisville, daughter; Shelly Walker Barber of Great Falls, Montana, sons; David Kenneth Walker of Portland, Oregon, Scott, Randall Walker of Beaverton, Oregon, sisters; Berniece (Jim) Siddoway, of Teton, Kathy (Julio) Hernandez, of Lewisville, Beverly (Bill) Curtis, of Lake Ellsinore, California, Layle Lougy, of Cedar City, Utah, Jacque Sprinkle, of Cedar City, Utah, Merry Sue (Gary) Leverton, of Elk Grove, California, Pam Murdock, of Dixon, California, brothers; Calvin (Bonnie) Walker, of Marsing, Dennis (Carol) Walker, of Meridiah, Reed (Kristen) Walker, of Lewisville, Guy (Vivian) Murdock, of Caldwell, Cal Murdock, of Rexburg, and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister-in-law; Karen Murdock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Lewisville LDS Church. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at the Lewisville LDS Church, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, also at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
