Kennith Dean Call

Kennith Dean Call, age 80, of Rigby, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Kennith was born November 14, 1925 at Idaho Falls, a son of John Omer Call and Sarah Matilda Dinsdale Call. He attended school in Rigby. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Della Reece on September 9, 1946 in Dillon, Montana. They later divorced. He married Shirley Bea Hall, May 2, 1957 at Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They later divorced. He married Alice Christensen March 24, 1990 in Rigby. He farmed in the Rigby area, worked for Garland Call Pole Yard and in the Potato industry. He was an avid horseman and rode as a jockey throughout the intermountain west on thoroughbreds and quarter horses until age 65. He was an active member of the V.F.W. Post #1004. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his younger years he was a golden glove boxing champion in Idaho. He enjoyed racing horses, traveling during his retirement, dancing, and was very patriotic. He is survived by his wife Alice of Rigby, six daughters: DeAnn Flower of Middleton, Idaho, Pam (Rick) Harris of Roberts, Christine (Sterling) Bryan of Taft, California, Kathy (Kirk) Hall of Evanston, Wyoming, Eula (Lynn) Nickell of Idaho Falls and Faye (Terry) Radford of LaBelle, nine sons: Rick L. (Melissa) Call of Marlin Washington, ValDean (Char) Call of Chino, California, Bruce (Nancy) Jenson of Lexington, Kentucky, Jerry Jenson of Boise, Brad (Jan) Call of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Jeff (Annette) Call of Rigby, Mike (Melissa) Call of Pocatello, Delwin Christensen of Idaho Falls, and Dwight (Greta) Christensen of Arroyo Grande, California, one brother: Orivel (Joy) Call of Twin Fall, Idaho, 51 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rigby East Stake Center. The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stake Center and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. also at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Military rites will be performed by the Jefferson Veterans Team.
