Kent Maurice Faler

Kent Maurice Faler, 75 of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at The Homestead Assisted Living Center in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Kent was born November 5, 1946 in Sacramento, California to Keith William Faler and Faye Marie Miller Faler.  He attended Battle Mountain Middle School in Battle Mountain, Nevada, and South Fremont Schools in St. Anthony, Idaho; graduating from South Fremont High School.

Kent enlisted in the US Airforce in August of 1965, he entered into active service at Fort Douglas in Utah.  He was honorably discharged from active duty in August of 1969 at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.  He continued his service, enlisting in the US Army Reserves in Idaho and was serving in 1976 when the Teton Dam collapsed.

On June 16, 1973, he married Carole Marie Airhart in Elko, Nevada.  They were blessed with a daughter, Latasha and a son Keith.  Kent and Carole later divorced.

Kent worked as a truck driver.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed gambling.

Kent is survived by his daughter, Latasha Orr of Rexburg, Idaho; son, Keith Faler of Boise, Idaho; sister, Melanie (Terry) Gleed of Parker, Idaho; brother, Steve (Linda) Faler of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.  Kent enjoyed being an uncle and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Meredith (Ralph) Watson; and a brother, Larry Faler.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2022 at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, prior to services at the Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
