Kevin Layne Loveland, age 34, of Rigby, died Tuesday August 3, 2004, at Kumasi Ghana Africa.Kevin was born February 24, 1970, in Bellevue, Washington a son of Jerry Eldwin Loveland and Teena Armstrong Loveland. He was raised and attended schools in Rupert until he was 14 and then attended Middleton, High School where he played football. He married Carrie Elms and they were later divorced. He married Andrea Waite and they were later divorced. After High School Kevin worked putting up electrical wires with a helicopter in Arizona. He lived and worked in Fallon, Nevada, Indian Valley, Idaho, and
Caldwell, Idaho where he pressed hay, put-up hay sheds and farmed. He moved to Rigby in 2002 and worked for Turnsteel of Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho and DOSECC of Salt Lake City, Utah. His work took him to Montseratt in the West Indies, Hawaii, Mexico, New Mexico, and finally to Africa where he drilled core samples for scientists. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kevin loved his family, children and friends, camping, swimming, golfing, and anything else that could be done with his children, music turned up loud, doing things with and for his friends, work and making friends wherever he traveled.
Survivors include his parents: Teena Armstrong Loveland of Rigby, Idaho and Jerry and Marta Loveland of Caldwell, Idaho; 1 daughter Nicholette Carleen Loveland of Emmett, Idaho; 2 sons Kevin Layne Loveland Jr. of Emmett, Idaho and Carey Lynn Loveland of Caldwell, Idaho; 1 sister KayLin Loveland of Salt Lake City, Utah and a half sister Loni Jean Loveland of Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004 in the Rigby LDS 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Richard Sterzer officiating. The family will meet with friends prior to the services at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
