Kris Lanelle Berkouwer

Kristin “Kris” Lanelle Berkouwer, 43, of Rigby, passed away at her home Monday, August 25, 2008. She was born August 1, 1965 in Moses Lake, WA, to Terry Thatcher and Carol Stanger Thatcher, and was adopted and raised by John and Louise Price. She attended schools in Salt Lake City, UT, and graduated from Alta High School. She continued her education at the L.D.S. Business College. On March 1, 1996, she married Bastiaan Berkouwer in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a successful mission in the Birmingham Alabama Mission. Kris enjoyed life, people and cows and fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past 1 ½ years. She is survived by her husband, Bas Berkouwer of Rigby, and her parents, John and Louise Price of Salt Lake City, UT, Terry (Linda) Thatcher and Carol Thatcher. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Rigby 3rd Ward Chapel, 364 N. 4100 E., with Bishop Cal McComber conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, both at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
