Kristen Exler

Kristen Stokes Exler, age 56, passed away on August 21,2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Born on February 27,1969, in Salmon, Idaho, Kristen brought light and laughter into the world from her very first day.

A proud graduate of Salmon High School in the class of 1987, Kristen continued her education at BYU-Idaho before earning her nursing degree from Eastern Idaho Technical College. Her passion for caring for others led to a fulfilling career in healthcare. She began her professional
journey at Challis Medical Center, where she worked for four years before joining Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, dedicating over 2 decades to serving patients with compassion and skill. Kristen also extended her care into the community through home health services, always
guided by a deep sense of empathy and kindness.

On September 25, 1993, Kristen married Travis Exler in Salmon, Idaho. Together they built a life rooted in love and family. Kristen was a devoted wife to Travis and a loving mother to their three daughters, Sage, Sara and Sadie. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her granddaughter Remi,
who brought even more light into her life.

Kristen’s heart was as expansive as the Idaho skies she loved. She had an extraordinary affection for animals-especially cows-and was known for welcoming all things “stray”, whether they had fur or simply needed a friend. Her home and heart were always open.

She found happiness in camping trips and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Whether around a campfire or gathered at home, Kristen’s presence made every occasion warmer and more joyful.

She is deeply mourned by her parents, Clee and Abbie Stokes; her husband Travis; daughters Sage, Sara and Sadie; granddaughter Remi; sisters Cara (Pete) Parke, Paula (Rad) Orr, and Jana (Jeff) Eagle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Kristen.

Kristen lived a life defined by laughter, generosity, and unwavering love-for people and animals alike. She leaves a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held on September 5th, 2025, at 11:00AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 471 2nd S St, Dubois, Idaho, celebrating the legacy of love she leaves behind. Funeral under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home, Rigby, Idaho. In lieu of
