Kyle Jay Clifford, 61, of Rexburg, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born August 21, 1950, in Rigby to Douglas Clifford and Fern Pfost Clifford. He was raised in Menan and graduated from Rigby High School. He continued his education at BYU and ISU, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education. On December 27, 1974, he married Julie Ann Ellis in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple; to this union they added 3 children. He taught Art and History at Madison Jr. High for 30 years.
Kyle was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including a full time mission in Germany and in a Bishopric on BYU-I campus. He participated in and served as a chairman of The International Dance Festival in Rexburg. He enjoyed painting, magic and above all loved his family.
He is a kind and gentle man, survived by his wife, Julie Clifford, daughters; Karolyn Ann Clifford, Natalie Jo (Jon) Blackburn, son; Derek Kyle Clifford, all of Rexburg, brother; Rod Clifford, of Salt Lake City, Utah, one grandchild, Jon Patrick Blackburn, and many extended family that loved him very much.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Hibbard LDS Chapel with Pres. Randy Hayes presiding. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
