LaGrand Jones, 85, of Milo, passed away September, 20, 2008, at his home.
He was born December 9, 1922, in Providence, Utah, to Hyrum Jones and Abigail Ann Naylor Jones. He was a graduate of South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
On September 2, 1948, he married Mary Ann Pardonnet, in Dubois, Idaho. She preceded him in death. On December 26, 1957, he married Luella Avery Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, October 21, 1965.
LaGrand was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding.
He is survived by his wife; Luella Jones, of Milo, daughters; Terry (Blair) Palmer-Moser, of Riverton, Utah, Janae Anderson, of Sandy, Utah, Tammy (Rick) Williams, of Layton, Utah, Trudy Jones, of Milo, a son; Cleve (Linda) Hendrickson, of Rigby, a sister; Loma (Joe) Ekstrom, of Midvale, Utah, 48 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a wife, Mary Ann, a son, Brent Jones, brothers; Leland, Myrl, Jesse, Marvel, Marvin, and Doyle Jones, a sister, Pheobe Jones, and sons-in-law; Lynn Palmer and Steve Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Milo Chapel, with Bishop Vern Piquet, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
