Laird Winfred Rowen, age 81, of Rigby, died Monday August 19, 2002 at the home of his
daughter.
Laird was born December 8, 1920 in Auburn, Nebraska the son of Glen Thomas Rowen and
Ethel Corine Stoner Rowen.
Laird was raised and schooled in the mid-west mainly in Denver, Colorado. He married Dorothy
Bowden on May 27, 1946 at Denver, Colorado. Laird was a master electrician by trade working
in Bonanza, Utah, Californa and Colorado. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States
Army Air Corps during World War II setting up radar in the Mariannes Islands. Laird became a
born again Christian at an early age, and was always willing to help others. He was known as
mister fix-it for everyone. Laird was proud of his military service, he believed that your word
was your bond. Laird loved his wife very much, along with his family and friends.

Laird was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashley Valley
Christian Fellowship Hall (2550 West 500 North Vernal, Utah) with Pastor Preston McNutt
officiating. Burial will be in the Dryfork Cemetery in Dryfork under the direction of Eckersell
Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho.
