LaMar Anton Casper, 64, of Elk Bend, Idaho died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at his home in Elk Bend of Pancreatic Cancer.
LaMar was born July 24, 1942 in Annis, Idaho, a son of Edwin and Vonda Schneiter Casper. He was raised in the Menan area where he attended school at Menan Elementary, Midway Jr. High and Rigby High School. He attended University of Idaho and Grimm’s Business College. He married LuDene Taylor in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 28, 1963. They were married for 43 years. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho, and Gillette, Wyoming. When they retired they moved to Elk Bend, Idaho outside of Salmon. LaMar served in the Rigby National Guard form 1961 to 1964. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. LaMar enjoyed fishing, golfing, crossword puzzles and camping.
Survivors include his wife LuDene Casper of Elk Bend, Idaho 2 sons, Chad (Mary Frances) Casper of Boise, Idaho, Travis Casper of Elko, Nevada, and daughter-in-law Bonnie Casper of Burley, Idaho, sister Ann (Bruce) Barnes of North Fork, Idaho, Val (Sheryl) Casper of Driggs, Idaho, and Richard (Leesa) Casper of Roberts, Idaho, and six grandchildren.
LaMar was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and 1 nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Menan Stake Center on Wednesday, November 22, 2006. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to the services at the stake center from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Montana Cancer Specialty Clinic (1150 Westwood Drive, Hamilton, Montana 59840) or to Hospice of Salmon Valley (506 Van Dreff, Salmon, Idaho 83467).
