Lane Frandsen Criddle, 65, of Ririe, Idaho passed away in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 11, 2023.
Lane was born April 1, 1958 in Shelley, Idaho the son of Alvin H. Criddle and A. Marjorie Frandsen Criddle. He grew up in Basalt, Idaho. He attended schools in Firth, Idaho and graduated from Firth High School.
On December 1, 1978, Lane married Terri Killian in Rigby, Idaho. Together they raised four children, sons: Joshua and Kristopher and daughters: Natasha and Brandee. After they were married they settled in Idaho Falls and later in the Coltman area. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple on April 13, 1996. For most of his life, Lane worked as a salesman. He began his sales career at Old Faithful Beverage (PepsiCo). In 1985, he purchased a distributorship with Clover Club Potato Chip Company. He owned and operated this for 17 years. During that time, he expanded into multiple routes and covered all of Idaho Falls and many outlying areas. This quickly became a family business that allowed him to spend time with his children and even provided work for his children and family. His kids learned the value of hard work and dedication from their time spent on the route with Dad. Some of our most favorite childhood memories were days spent with Dad even in summer months while out of school. We would often be caught begging to ride along. In 2001, they moved to Rigby to the home that he and his family built. At this time, Lane changed careers and began working at Barnes Inc. as a tools and supplies rep for various shops and businesses in the area. Later he transitioned to sales at Tifco Company. In 2018, his career ended early due to a massive stroke. Because of health reasons they moved to Ririe, Idaho to live with his son and daughter-in-law.
Lane was a lifelong, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many capacities including primary, Elder’s Quorum presidency, Sunday School teacher, and High Priest Group leadership. The position that most strengthened his testimony was Executive Secretary for multiple bishoprics. He had a strong testimony of his Savior. We’ve heard from others that his faith could move mountains. He loved his family dearly and family was the foundation to his life. He had many interests and talents. He was athletic and particularly good at basketball, football, and softball. He hunted and fished with his family. With the help of his family he built a drift boat that he used to float down the Southfork. Many wonderful memories were made on these trips. Above all, his favorite pastime was camping with his family at Fall Creek, Idaho. He rode dirt bikes with his children and grandchildren. He was a man of many talents and could do anything from building, remodeling, and adding on to houses for his family. He was particularly good at plumbing. He was a mechanic and could figure out most anything. Lane loved animals and always had a dog with him.
Lane was known for many things, but above all he was known for his endless service. He served everyone and would drop anything for anyone. Whether it was fixing plumbing for his kids, helping repair cars, remodeling homes late at night, shoveling snow, or mowing lawns, the list goes on and on. He was always willing. He knew the true definition of charity: the pure love of Christ.
Lane had a family motto that he lived by “Criddles Never Quit!” This has been carried on to his family and we all live this same motto. It has been ingrained into his children and grandchildren. Lane was known for his integrity and honesty.
Families are forever!
