Violet LaRae Pilgrim Cammack, 90, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.

Born on June 22, 1935, in Malad, Idaho, LaRae was the oldest child of Ray Hadfield Pilgrim and LaVene Morris Pilgrim. She grew up in Riddyville, Idaho, near McCammon Idaho, where she learned the value of hard work early in life on the family farm.

After graduating from McCammon High School, she moved to Salt Lake City to further her education at LDS Business College. In 1954, LaRae married the love of her life, Byron Packer Cammack, for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and mutual devotion.

LaRae’s greatest lifelong ambition was to be a mother and a homemaker, a role she fulfilled with boundless love, patience, and tenderness. She possessed a deeply creative and nurturing spirit. Her hands were rarely still, finding joy in sewing, knitting, gardening, and baking. Above all else, her family was her greatest treasure. She found her ultimate happiness in raising her children, supporting her husband, and creating a welcoming home filled with warmth, happiness, and peace.

A faithful, lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaRae dedicated her life to Christlike service. She held many callings over the years, but she particularly loved serving as a ministering sister. In her later years, she eagerly looked forward to visits from family, neighbors, and friends, always offering a warm smile, a listening ear, and a kind heart to anyone who walked through her door. Her legacy of unwavering faith, absolute devotion to family, and quiet, Christlike service will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Loring (Laura) Cammack and Lance (Jenny) Cammack; her daughter, DaNiel (Loren) José; nine beautiful grandchildren; and twenty-four cherished great-grandchildren. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Byron; her son, Kirk Cammack; her parents; and her siblings, Jay Dee Pilgrim, Dorcus Lemon, and Steve Pilgrim.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the East Rigby Stake Center, located at 258 W 1st N, Rigby, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and special thanks to her dedicated nurses and caregivers who provided such exceptional care: Susie Lacy, Ann Orme, Alia Bolinger, and all of the wonderful caretakers at Homestead. LaRae truly loved and appreciated their kindness.
