Thyrald “Larry” Finn, 61, formerly of Rigby, died May 11, 2009, at McKay-Dee Hospital, due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born July 6, 1947, in Rigby to Thyrald Harris Finn and Elaine Rushton Finn. He was raised and attended Rigby schools, graduating from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in the South West Indian Mission. He also served as a High Priest Instructor, Elders Quorum President, Ward Organist, and Chorister. Larry enjoyed swimming and skiing, art, and was a good artist, he taught himself to play the piano and organ. He was an excellent cook and owned and operated the Sugar Factory Smoke House in Rigby and also in Layton, Ut.
He is survived by his Mother, Elaine Finn, of Rigby, a sister, Marcia Kay (Craig) Hammer, of Greenwood, Indiana, brothers, Jim C. (Debbie) Finn, of Rigby, Scott H. (Tina) Finn, of Orlando, FL, and Jeff J. (Tammy) Finn, of Rigby.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the Clark-Shelton Chapel, with Bishop John Roberts, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
