Larry M. Hill, 82 of Lyman, Idaho, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home. Larry was born in Thornton, Idaho to William Howard Hill and Bertha Billman Hill. He was raised and attended schools in Lyman, then graduated from Madison High School. He married Jolene Butler June 25, 1954 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 5 children. She preceded him in death October 2, 1964. On September 10, 1965, he married Shirley Green Bush in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for time; their marriage was later solemnized February 24, 1977. He adopted Shirley’s 3 children who were sealed to them on this date. Larry farmed and raised cattle in the Lyman area throughout his life. Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was ordained a High Priest. He was involved in serving on the church farm during the harvest season. He served on the Lenroot Canal Board as a director. He had a lifetime love for camping, hunting, family reunions and was a fisherman at heart. He also enjoyed cattle auctions in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot. In his later years, he enjoyed long drives with his wife Shirley and his dog Bud. He was survived by his wife, Shirley of Lyman, Idaho; daughters, Susan (Steven) Johnson, of Leadore, Idaho, Linda (Russell) Munns, of Archer, Idaho, Lori (Thad) Checketts, of Kersey, Colorado, Relda (Michael) Sorensen, of South Jordan, Utah; sons, Craig Dee (Carla) Hill, of Archer, Idaho, Val M. (Linda) Hill, of Lyman, Idaho, Rodney L. (Tracy) Hill, of Lyman, Idaho, Bryant L. (Cindy) Hill, of Lyman, Idaho; brother, Merlin (Bernice) Hill, of Ririe, Idaho; 43 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene Butler, his parents, William Howard Hill and Bertha Billman Hill, and a brother, Verdale Hill, sister-in-law, Bonnie Johnson Hill, and 2 grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Lyman 1st Ward LDS Chapel (1952 W. 6000 S., Rexburg, Idaho). The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
