Larry Floyd Samuelson, 71, of Rigby, died May 17, 2009, at Madison Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1938, in Pocatello, to Avla Floyd Samuelson, and Elva Rebecca Porter Samuelson. He was raised and attended schools in Pocatello, Idaho, St. George, Utah, and Hurricane, Utah. On January 12, 1961, he married Myla Gay Casper, in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. Together they lived in Menan, Rexburg, Pocatello, and Rigby.
He worked for Golden Valley Packers as a hide puller, as a laborer in various potato warehouses, he manufactured wood burning stoves and hearths, he helped remove railroad spur between Menan and Egin, and helped to remodel the YMCA in Pocatello.
Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he enjoyed fishing and watching John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his wife, Myla Samuelson, of Rigby, daughters, Sarah (Fred) Hayes, of Ontario, New York, Larrynda Samuelson, of Rigby, sons, Thomas Samuelson, of Rigby, Steven Samuelson, of Pendleton, Oregon, sisters, Ruth (John) Hudach, of Hubbard, Ohio, Jean Brooks, of Layton, Utah, Marian (Ted) Hughs, of Hawthorne, Nevada, Raleen Ames, of Pocatello, brothers, Duane (Darlene) Samuelson, of McCammon, LeeRoy (Sharon) Samuelson, of Huntsville, Alabama,1 grandson and 3 granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at the Rigby East Stake Center, 4021 E. 300 N., the family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, prior to services at the stake center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
