Larry George Summers, 69, of Ririe, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
Larry was born October 16, 1936 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son of Laurence George Summers and Rosa Edith Hunter Summers. He was raised in Ririe attending Ririe schools. He graduated from Ririe High School where he was active in band. He was active in scouting earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Following high school he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Larry served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California. Larry married Lorraine Curtis. They were later divorced. He worked as a salesman in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Idaho Falls where he served as president and past president. He served in the Idaho National Guard. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing pool.
Survivors include two daughters LuAnn Thomson and Sarah, one son Kym Summers, one sister Linda (Richard) Davey of Ririe, one brother K.D. “Skip” (Sue) Summers of Bountiful, Utah, and 6 grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jack and Ben.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery at 12:00 noon. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
