Larson W. Rowen, 69 of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, November 08, 2016 at his home. Larson was born December, 3, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Laird Winfred “Winn” Rowen and Dorothy “Dorcy” Bowden Rowen. He was raised and attended schools in Vernal, Utah. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. On June 13, 1970 he married Teresa Palmer in Vernal Utah; they were blessed with a daughter, Christle and 2 sons, Shon and Matt. Larson was a jack of all trades and took great pride in the work he did; in addition to owning and operating a machine shop he also owned a restaurant and game room in Vernal, Utah, and worked extensively in the oil fields as a welder and mechanic. Most recently he worked as an electrician at the INL, NRF. Larson was an avid collector of all things and enjoyed attending auctions with his wife; he especially enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks. His family and friends were of the upmost importance to him and he loved the time spent with them visiting at every coffee shop in town. He was known for his quick wit and storytelling ability and will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Christle (Keith) Duff, of Nampa, Idaho, sons, Shon (Becky) Rowen, of Shelley, Idaho, Matt (Trina) Rowen, of Idaho Falls, sisters, Sharlee (John) Lenartz, of Rigby, Jule Horsley, of Rigby, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laird and Dorothy Rowen, wife, Teresa Palmer Rowen, and 2 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the North Hi-Way Café 460 Northgate Mile, Idaho Falls. Come enjoy a meal and share memories of Larson in his favorite setting. Burial will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 12 noon at the Dry Fork Cemetery in Vernal, Utah.
