LaRue Emily Galbraith Palmer, age 95 of Rexburg, Idaho passed away on May 5th, 2024.
LaRue was the youngest daughter born to John Herbert (Herb) Galbraith and Ida Mae Barber Galbraith. She was born Nov. 14th, 1928 in Lyman, Idaho. She was a graduate of Madison High School. She completed training for cosmetology and really enjoyed working in beauty salons.
LaRue married Boyd Wilcox in 1948. They had 2 children, their son Bruce and daughter Gale. LaRue and Boyd were later divorced.
In 1989, LaRue married the love of her life, LeRoy Palmer of Egin, where they enjoyed over 20 years of sweet companionship until Roy passed away in 2010.
LaRue was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a special gift of serving others by making each person in her life feel important and loved. She used this talent as well as her many talents of crocheting and sewing throughout her life.
LaRue had a sharp intellect and witty personality to the very last day of her life. She was the last of her 6 siblings to leave this earth. She is survived by her loving children, Bruce (Shawn) Wilcox and Gale Fetzer of Washington State. She has 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews that were very important parts of LaRue’s life. LaRue treasured her family and friends. Every person was important to her and she will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Rexburg East Stake Center (387 South 4th East). The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will follow services at Sutton Cemetery in Archer, Idaho.
