LaRue Williams Phillips Pack, 86 of Idaho Falls, died Monday, January 19, 2015, at her home.
LaRue was born August 17, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a daughter of Charles and Vonda Amelia Wood Williams. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School and continued her education at Ricks College. LaRue was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission to the Southern States.
LaRue married David Dee Phillips May 29, 1952 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. They made their living farming and ranching in the Terreton area. He preceded her in death. She married Dean L. Pack in the Idaho Falls Temple. He preceded her in death. LaRue was a member of the Daughters of The Utah Pioneers. She served as the organist for 65 years, and served as the Relief Society President and in various other auxiliary Presidencies; church has always been a corner stone in her life. LaRue was involved with the Farm Bureau for many years and she enjoyed traveling, sewing, craft fairs, ceramics and quilting.
LaRue is survived by her daughter Nancy (Sean) Bigham of Idaho Falls, 5 sons, Brent Phillips of Idaho Falls, Ray (Debbie) Phillips of Idaho Falls, Paul (Charlene) Phillips of Logan, Utah, Wayne (Corinne) Phillips of Idaho Falls, Vaughn Phillips of Idaho Falls, sister, Eileen Wiemer of Boise, brother Delwyn (Marlene) Williams of San Diego, California, 31 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
LaRue is preceded in death by her parents, husband David Phillips, and husband Dean Pack, daughter Ellen Jackson and Brother Kay Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the St. Leon L.D.S. Chapel (6925 N. 15th E. Idaho Falls). The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main Rigby) and prior to the services at the church from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
