Lauren Williams age 84 passed away peacefully at his home on March 31, 2025.
He was born in Rexburg Idaho 4th child of Vernon and Thelma Williams. He grew up attending the Rexburg schools served an LDS mission and joined the army to serve his country and attended Rick's College where he met the love of his life- Shirlene Furniss. They dated for a while and were married October 9,1964, for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple.
They lived in Salt Lake City for a little while and welcomed a baby boy on June 29, 1972, and then moved back to Idaho Falls where he worked at the INL until he retired.
He loved to fly airplanes, rock climbing and rock hounding, he also for a while was the president of the American Federation of Mineralogical societies.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
He leaves behind his wife Shirlene, son Troy (Jill) Williams of Idaho Falls, Idaho 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Sugar City Cemetery, 804 North 16th East, Sugar City, Idaho 83448, Monday April 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Military Honors will be conducted by Madison Veterans and Idaho Honor Guard.
