LaVere Doul Karren, 92 of Ririe, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
LaVere was born Nov. 21, 1926 in Lewiston, Utah to George Leavitt Karren and Ruth Benson Karren. He was raised and attended schools in, Lewiston, Utah and White Bluffs, Washington. On June 3, 1949, he married Bonnie Hill in the Logan LDS Temple; they were blessed with 1 daughter and 4 sons. LaVere and Bonnie made their home in Ririe.
LaVere was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served as a member of the Ririe 2 nd Ward Bishopric and many other callings; he also served in the Rexburg, Idaho temple. He and his wife served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. He loved to take care of his home and yard and always stayed busy.
He was employed as a machinist and millwright. He also did carpentry for many years after he retired. He served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947.
LaVere was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, a son Steven and his 5 siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Duane) Weber of Menan: sons, Bruce (Debbie) Karren of Rigby, Scott (Colleen) Karrren of Farmignton, Ut, Doug (Dawn) Karren of Rancho Cucamonga CA.
LaVere’s family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Nuclear Care Partners for their years of care and love and to Alliance Home Health and Hospice for their end of life treatment.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Ririe Stake Center, the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m., Monday October 21, 2019 in the Richmond, Utah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LDS general missionary fund.
