LaVerl Albert Scott, 81, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Rigby, died Sunday November 13, 2011, at his home.
He was born August 19, 1930, in Annis, Idaho to Albert Josiah Scott and Ida Belle Hanson Scott. He was raised and attended schools in Annis. He worked as a janitor at First Interstate Bank, at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery as a care taker, and at both the Rigby and Lincoln Sugar Factories.
LaVerl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, going for drives to take in the beautiful sites of nature, and helping others. He also enjoyed repairing clocks he found at D.I. and giving them to others. He often stopped for lunch at Yellowstone Truck-Stop, and enjoyed getting to know the workers and people there.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Ida Johnson, of Rigby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother Ervin Scott, and 4 half sisters, Velma Anderson, Verda Simmons, Rhea Kingston, and Gladys Briggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
