LaVon Smith Behrens, 92 of Idaho Falls, formerly of Rigby, passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at her home. She was born July 4, 1920, in Arimo, Idaho to Wells Beck and Lydia Jane Roundy Beck. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby. On April 30, 1938 she married Earl Melbourne Smith in Logan Utah, he preceded her in death. Years later she married Vernon Behrens. She worked at Jack’s Chicken Inn in Idaho Falls, for Roseanna Women’s Clothing Shop, and S & H Green Stamps Store. She also owned and operated The Trading Post in Bliss, Idaho with her husband Vernon. LaVon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Idaho Falls Carpenter’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, growing roses, collecting antiques and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Fairbanks Wilde, of Ogden, Utah, Jane Blasius Skaar (Keith), of Idaho Falls, sons, Richard (Pat) Smith of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Jim Farris (Diana) Smith of Idaho Falls, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl M. Smith, husband Vernon Behrens, a son, Ronald E. Smith, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will appreciate contributions to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 810 Moran, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401
