L.B. (Ren) Kofoed, 97, of Annis, passed away Tuesday, December 03, 2013 at his home.
He was born February 2, 1916, in Weston, Idaho to Clarence Henry Kofoed and Grace Amelia Baird Kofoed. He graduated High School in Weston, Idaho and then received his Bachelors degree from Ricks College and Masters Degree from Utah State University. He served in World War II as an airplane mechanic.
He married Ardis Shaw May 5th 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 11, 1959.
He worked in the Civil Conservation Corp building bridges and roads in Yellowstone Park. He taught Industrial Arts in Ashton High School. He enjoyed jewelry making, leatherwork, carving, and fly tying. He loved to fly fish and hunt. He worked as a clinical Psychologist in private practice and in school systems.
He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a temple worker and teacher. He held the office of High Priest.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn (Cory) Jones of Rigby, three sons, Wayne Kofoed of Arlington, Texas, Robert (Terri) Kofoed of Flower Mound, Texas and Reed (Carmen) Kofoed of Winnemucca, Nevada, one sister Norma of Prumph, Nevada and a brother Lyle of Green River, Wyoming, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ardis, his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Menan LDS Stake Center; 698 N. 3600 E., Menan. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Cache Clawson Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
