Leandro A. Jaramillo, 74 of Menan, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1938 in Preston, Idaho to Esaias Jaramillo and Emilia Martinez Jaramillo. He was raised and attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley High School. He excelled at sports and played baseball, football and basketball throughout his school years. On February 10, 1961 he married Shannon Haggerty in Idaho Falls. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years, worked for OK Tire in Shelley, Machine Tab and First Security Bank in Idaho Falls and retired from Argonne National Lab after 25 years.
Leandro enjoyed horse racing, flat track racing and chariot racing. Above all he loved his family and was a very dedicated family man.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Steve Garcia) Sims, of Grand Junction, CO, sons, Anthony (Laurie) Jaramillo, of Ashton, Daniel Jaramillo, of Menan, Micheal (Shawndell) Jaramillo of Kuna, sister, Rosalie Jaramillo, of Shelley, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shannon Jaramillo, brothers, Samuel Jaramillo and Charley Jaramillo and a sister, Agnes Jaramillo.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday November 16, 2012 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery at a later date, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
