Lee Oliver Robinson, 87, of Ucon/ Milo area, died March 20, 2010 at his son’s home in Idaho Falls.
He was born March 18, 1923, in Ucon, to Oliver Leroy Robinson and Julia Lott Robinson. He graduated from Ucon High School then continued his education at Ricks College. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. On February 9, 1951 he married Thora Birch in The Idaho Falls LDS Temple, she preceded him in death. On June 16, 1992, he married Alice Kathryn Root Wright, in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. At the age of 24 he was called to the Northern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Fifty years later Lee and Kathryn served a mission in the same area.
Lee farmed in the Ucon and Milo areas. He served on the Farm Bureau board and the Ucon Cemetery Board. His favorite hobbies were snowmobiling, making homemade bread by hand, watching western movies, and watching trains. Lee loved people, farming and enjoyed singing. The family expresses their appreciation to Idaho Home Health and Hospice and Nurses Katy, Nikki, and Britney for their care and concern.
He is survived by his wife; Alice Kathryn Robinson, of Ucon, daughters; Marcene (Chad) Hafer, of Twin Falls, Sheryl (Peter) Hatch, of Lake Orion, Michigan, Janice (Kevin) Ho, of Marietta, Georgia, step-daughters; Joye (Gregg) Graves, of Antioch, California, Karolyn (Rob) Gaines, of Gooding, Idaho, sons; Creed Lee (Sandra) Robinson, of Twin Falls, Idaho, Dee Birch (Mary) Robinson, of Idaho Falls, step-sons; James (Tamara) Wright, of Oregon, Ed (Pam) Wright, of Washington, sisters; LaRue Clark, of Ucon, Marie Glen, of Jerome, a brother, Joseph Sidwells Robinson, of Twin Falls, 31 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thora Birch, his parents, Oliver and Julia Lott Robinson, brothers, Eli Robinson and Aaron Robinson, Dell Robinson, sisters Donna Robinson Woodland, and Virginia Robinson Reay.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milo L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Vernon Piquet conducting. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, and prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the Milo L.D.S. Church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
