Lee Everett Staggs

Lee Everett Staggs, 91, of Rigby, Idaho passed away, Thursday, October 05, 2017. He was born November 18, 1925 in Ucon, Idaho, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Minnie Laraine Harris Staggs. Lee served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Snake River Post 1004, and served as Chaplain, Adjunct and Quartermaster.  He was a former member of the Eagles Club.  With his fellow veterans of the Jefferson Veteran Team, he has served members of the military and other veterans who have passed before him, administering their service rites. Lee studied bookkeeping and business management from the Idaho Falls Business College and Glen E Clark School of Business. He worked in the construction field, as a truck driver and in Retail Sales.  Most of Lee’s life was being a musician.  This passion helped him make a lot of his living. He married Lida Petersen in Dillon, Montana on June 14, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho LDS Temple on April 25, 1956.  He is survived by his wife Lida and their children, Melody Kay Seal of South Jordan, Utah, Nikki Lee Staggs of Marina, California and Shauna Marie Bragg of Level Plains, Alabama and a sister, Leona (Jack) Later of Rigby, Idaho.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.  Lee also leaves behind his dog companion, Buddy. He was preceded by his parents, his son, Kevin DeLynn Staggs, his sisters, Lurline Champion and Frieda L. Nanny, his brothers, George Alma Staggs, Herman F. Staggs, William T. Staggs, Raymond E. Staggs and Richard D. Loynd. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Rigby LDS 14th Ward Chapel, (602 Sundance, Rigby, ID).  The family will meet with friends prior to services on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church.  Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
