Leith Joy Statham

Leith Joy Later Statham, 89, died on February 16, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born in Rigby, Idaho on August 9, 1916 to Lewis S. and Chloe (Call) Later. Leith lived in Rigby for 80 years. She attended Rigby schools. In 1933 she met Clyde Statham at a Riverside dance. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 22, 1934. They were parents of 4 children: Fred Lewis, Suzanne, Judy K, and Merilynn. Leith enjoyed meeting people and worked in retail all of her working life, finally as an Avon representative. She was an active member of the L.D.S. church and served in many positions. Leith is survived by her children, Suzanne Smout (Bill), Meridian, Idaho; Judy Miller (Ron), Belgrade, Montana; Merilynn Boekweg (David), Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter-in-law Myra (Statham) Tice; grandson Kelly Fred Statham; sister Bonnie Mobley, Orange, California. 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; son, Fred; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street Rigby. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rigby Stake Center 258 West 1st North, and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
