Lena Zitlau McCabe Wiese, of Rigby, passed on October 28, at age 102, from causes incident to age.
Lena was born January 28, 1912 at Labelle (near Rigby) Idaho to Martha Kliester and Fredrick Zitlau. Lena married Henry McCabe June 17, 1939 (He passed away in 1977), and married Harry Wiese in 1988 (who passed in 2003).
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a devoted visiting teacher. She was a homemaker, mother, gardener, and was always involved in the farming and ranching of the day. She sewed numerous beautiful quilts to the enjoyment of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For the last several years, she has resided at the Rigby Great Oaks Assisted Living Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers, her children, Edwin (Harriet) McCabe, William (Marie) McCabe, Howard (Arlene) McCabe, Genevieve (Lewis) Ladwig and Rose Brown.
She is survived by her children Maxine (Ronald) Crossley of Rigby; Roger (Doris) Snider of Salem, Utah; Patrick (Carol) McCabe of North Salt Lake, Utah; and Harry (Karen) McCabe of Medford, Oregon; 34 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, and 61 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
