Lenaia Hokanson Lords, 88, of Rigby, Idaho passed away February 17, 2025 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born July 18, 1936 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Wilford Edward Hokanson and Afton Lucille Barzee Hokanson.

Lenaia grew up in Pingree, and Ammon, Idaho. She graduated from Snake River High School. During her high school years, she assisted in the potato harvest. She enjoyed sewing and was known for sewing clothing, doing alterations, quilting, and making clothing items for family and others. She used this talent to support her family at a factory in Portland, Oregon while living in Battleground, Washington. She also sold Avon Cosmetics and Tupperware.

In 1955, Lenaia married William Hansen in Aberdeen, Idaho. They later divorced. On March 5, 1963, she married Eugene DeWane Lords in Idaho Falls at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho Falls until DeWane was transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1977. In 1984, when DeWane became the post master in Rigby, Idaho they made Rigby their home. While they built their home in Rigby, they lived in their summer home in Island Park, Idaho. She loved spending time in the Island Park home and area with family.

Lenaia enjoyed singing. She performed as a member of the Chansonettes Women’s Choir in Rigby, Idaho. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she had many opportunities to serve. Where ever she moved she had opportunity to fill callings and assignments. Primary Chorister, Young Women’s President and Visiting Teaching Coordinator as well as others.

Lenaia had a connection with Lady Bugs. This led her to a fascination with the color red and collecting lady bug memorabilia. She also had a green thumb when it came to indoor plants. She had quite a collection of house plants to go along with her Lady Bugs.

Lenaia is survived by her daughters; Diann Young of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Dewena (Oscar) Carlson of Ridgefield, Washington. Her step-sons; Steve (Vicki) Lords of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Gary Lords (Sonja) of San Antonio, Texas, and sons Wayne Lords of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Brent Lords of Rigby, Idaho. Her sisters; Rhona (Lanny) Legg of Boise, Idaho, Vione (Jerry) Graham of Thayne, Wyoming, and Yohlon (Rholand) Cooper of Fallon, Nevada. Her brothers; Darin (Dian) Hokanson of Woodland, Washington, and DeVon (Mary) Hokanson of Orem, Utah.  15 grandchildren, 24+ great grandchildren and 2+ great-great grandchildren.

Lenaia was preceded in death by her husband, E. DeWane Lords. A step-son, Gaylon Lords. A daughter, Anita Hansen. Two brothers, Clint and Erol Hokanson.

A funeral service will be held for Lenaia on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Rigby 22nd LDS Ward Chapel (401 West 1st South, Rigby, Idaho 83442). The family will meet with friends prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the church. Interment will be in the Ucon City Cemetery.
