Lenna Dee Barber

Lenna Dee Barber (Hobson), 62, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at her home in Draper, Utah. Her gracious battle with ALS was an inspiration to all who know and love her. Lenna was born November 29, 1949, the second daughter of Albert and Myril Hobson in Pocatello, Idaho. She attended elementary and secondary schools in Pocatello and continued to Idaho State University where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration. Her professional career included positions at Aerojet Nuclear in Idaho Falls and the IRS in Pocatello. In 1971 she married Richard (Rick) Barber, her best friend and eternal companion. Diligently serving wherever needed she was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a skilled draftsman and designer, she enjoyed remodeling and designing the homes that she and Rick lived in. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Lenna is survived by her husband Rick, daughter Hailey (Todd) Klements, son Luke (Hollie) Barber, four grandchildren, her mother Myril Hobson, sisters Sharon Howell, Renee Neider, and Coy Chandler. The family will receive visitors at McDougal Funeral Home (4330 South Redwood Road, SLC UT 84123) Tuesday March 1st from 6-8 PM; and again Wednesday March 2nd at the 700 East LDS Church (13112 South 700 East, Draper, UT 84020) from 9:30-10:30 AM with the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Services will be continued in Rigby, Idaho at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442) Thursday, March 3rd from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Her family requests that donations in her name be made to MDA.
