Leonora Ann Myler Spencer, 88, of Lewisville, died December 28, 2008, at Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
Leonora was born October 12, 1920, in Dubois, to Orrin Monroe Myler and Mary Boyes Walker. She attended school in Idaho Falls. On October 12, 1938, she married Arnold Orson Spencer in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Cardston Alberta Temple on June 22, 1939. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in all axillaries in the church. Leonora loved family, quilting, and gardening. Her flowers and her yard were her therapy.
She is survived by her children, Elmer Spencer, of Bountiful, UT, (Sue) Spencer, of Turlock, CA, Barbara Baxter, of Clovis, CA, Arlene (Robert) Cordingley, of Grant, Norman (Bobbie) Spencer, of Downey, David (Karen) Spencer, of Rigby, Carol (Dale) Nelson, of Ephrata, WA; 31 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother, Orrin Myler, sister Sarah Grover and Joy Hinckley. Her husband preceded her in death in 1962. A granddaughter, a great-grandson, and five sisters, also preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2008, at the Lewisville Church, with Bishop Tony Nielsen, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
