Levern Arthur Scott, age 81, of Annis, passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Tuesday, February 19, 2008.
Levern was born March 11, 1926 at Annis, a son of Arthur Edward Scott and Opal Young Scott. He attended schools in Annis and graduated from Midway High School. August 25, 1944 he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 3rd Army 94th Infantry Division during WWII in the European Theatre. He achieved the Rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged June, 28 1946. He married Darlene Dodge February 15, 1947 in Idaho Falls; she passed away February 10, 2002. June 28, 2003 he married Luana Rainey in Annis.
He was a member of the L.D.S. Church and the V.F.W. He worked as a Tile Setter and as a Pipe Fitter for twelve years at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. Levern loved fishing, hunting, camping with the family and prospecting for gold, he rebuilt guns as a hobby and enjoyed photography.
He is survived by his wife, Luana R. Scott of Annis, sons; Gene Allen (Penny) Scott, of Ucon, Jack Levern (Helen) Scott, of Shelley, Dale Arthur (Barbara) Scott, of Archer, step-daughters; Connie (Allen) Ball of Idaho Falls, Charlene Blanchard of St. Anthony, Janet (Arlin) Brown of Boise, Susan (Cleston) Mason of Rigby, a brother; Leroy Lloyd Scott, of Florence Montana, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Darlene, and a sister Glenda Marie Wilde, and a stepson; Glendon Dee Rainey.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Menan LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Stake Center.
Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
